Broken LaCie external hard-disk

Hello. My LaCie external hard-disk broke down at the last stage of my documentary project.

Luckily I had a back-up, but it disrupted the process of completing the film, as I had to do some significant extra to finish it. The external hard-disk was bought on 7th of April 2023 and it had 3 years data recovery label on it.

I would like to ask for a refund and I can provide all the necessary details about it. Kindly guide me through the process, as I was the Apple store where I bought it from in Amsterdam and I was told by the manager there to get in touch here. We tried at the Apple store to see if it can be restored, but it looked like a case of lost data.

The cost of the hard disk was EUR 129,95, with 21% VAT included. The article number is HQ4D2ZM/A and I have the invoice if required.

I am writing to inform you about an issue with my recent purchase of a LaCie hard drive from Amazon. I purchased the drive in April as an open-box item, and unfortunately, the 1-month Adobe Creative Cloud subscription that was supposed to be included was not present in the package.

I have tried every phone number they list. - 5 different numbers for various ways to get data retrieval.Responses:Can’t be completed as dialedNo longer have phone supportDo not service this any moreNot in serviceThis company has ZERO customer service. Do not buy anything from them.Their chat help is 100% useless.Wasted hours trying to find out why the 2tb La vie back up died and stopped showing up on laptop.Happened before with previous backups from them.They all just die and you have to buy a new one.This died after six moths - under a three year rescue plan.Tried all portals and on other computers - everything.Utter useless company, and no way to get any help at all.The worst!

Defective LaCie Safe Drive

I bought this LaCie for like $200. It doesn't work. I've contacted the company several times. They've been pretty good at responding.

I'm lucky that I was able to submit a support ticket online through my email using a support ticket I submitted in the past, because when I go to the website now the link to contact customer support, it doesn't work and the only alternative is to pay to speak to someone over the phone. This is absolutely ridiculous considering it has a 3 year warranty and they can't even provide free product support.

Anyway, this product is a piece. It doesn't work. I've confirmed with them that it's 'clearly defective' as they said. But those *** want me to pay $60 to have a 'swap' meaning to swap out this one for a new working one. It was defective from the time it was purchased! It's under warranty! Why should I pay ANYTHING to get a working product?!

Beware LaCie Products

I have owned several Lacie external hard drives and high end color monitors over the past 15 years. ALL of the hard drives eventually died - out of warranty, except for one.

The two LCD monitors (both high end and expensive) have also died. The latest monitor started to malfunction 3 days ago. Their tech support advised they will not repair it - even for a fee. They only repair "in warranty" products.

So, over the years I have several door stops and a couple of boat anchors thanks to the lack of support from this company.

There are many good product reviews of their products out there. But BEWARE - they will not repair any that go beyond warranty!!!
